the Hibernators go back a few years further than some bands.. but not near as far as some others. We're called Hibernators 'cuz we don't play much in the summer.. mostly October thru May or so. We decided long ago that we'd dodge fame and sure as hell have been dodging fortune.. in pursuit of a higher cause.. so high we can't seem to recall what it was.
We hope you enjoy some of what we're doing.. we enjoy doing it.. and if you enjoy the tunes, feel free to tell a few thousand of your closest personal friends to buy some CD's.. we can always print more!.. or don't worry about just down-loading a bunch for free either- Cheers.

There once was a young lad named Bruce
Who practiced and picked his guitar
'I think if I try really hard', he had said,
'I'm sure I can make it quite far'
But to his surprise, as the curtain was drawn
His band didn't sound all that great
But with humor and guile, he mastered a smile
And said.. ' Oh well, I'll just Hibernate'
Instruments: Guitar, Mandolin, Octave Mandolin

And Mitch, so it's told, is a man about town
Plays Bass for many a band
His thumpity-thump, root-fifth, beats up-and-down
Pull the loose ends together - just grand
But it needs to be said
and with no hint of jest
... not to say that he's not a great picker
Mitch Hibernates from the North
Down from Hines-boogie way
and that just plain makes him pick slicker.
Instrument: 1920 Juzek Upright Bass

Last but not least is the one they call Pratt
Who mostly picks on the mando
But if you ask nice.. don't get too uptight
He'll drag out the electic, octave or dobro
So to those who wonder if he's a 'Jeff of all trades'
And nary the master of one
... Hibernate with the band for an evening or two
You'll know for yourself when you're done.'
Instruments: Mandolin, Octave Mandolin, Guitar, Dobro
